Our Story

Digs was established by a co-operative of Landlords looking to do things a little differently. They haven’t been involved for many years but many are still loyal clients. A strong brand was established and certainly one of the best and most prominent office spaces in Bristol. This brand is now going through its 4th reinvention with a fresh look and feel. There is a constant desire to improve, whether it be our incredibly loyal, long standing and experienced team, the brand look and feel, the use of technology or purely chairs and plants in the office.

Digs became part of the current structure, in fact Nick Jackson (General Manager) who began then is still there adding to his 25 years experience in the industry. The business has been a part of Abode Property Management Limited since 2011. This has given it as much support as is needed and a huge amount of extra synergy and knowledge when helpful. The changes in 2011 were across all the functions and involved a lot of new technology as well as a gradual change in the members of the team. Many of the team from 2011 are still with us.

We wanted to progress the business as best we could and in the most professional manner possible and hence we joined Propertymark, then known as ARLA. This registration has meant for many years we have committed to plenty of training/CPD plus a host of regulatory requirements. These requirements all ensure best practice for Landlords and critically we are thoroughly financially audited ensuring your funds are safe and well managed.

In 2016 an agency also based on The Triangle called Absolute was purchased and integrated into our business. This gave us some new clients in both the student and professional sectors. This was a step change in terms of our size and gave us a little more scope to invest further in our team and technology.

Kingsley Thomas was a household name in Bristol, it being one of the earliest Letting & Managing agencies. We purchased KT and integrated it into Bristol Lettings. This was at the same time as adopting what we decided was the best e-signature solution for all of our tenant liaising and signing needs. StuRents was adopted and is still used today, it’s a version of DocuSign and is now very much industry standard for many agencies. Back in 2019 it was ‘cutting edge’.

We invested in Matterport, a 3D tour and walk through system. We are still one of a very few companies to have invested so heavily in this system. This is a free service for any of our landlords to ensure thei properties do receive the best possible marketing.

In 2022 we updated our CRM system to Reapit, this has and is allowing us to look at every process within our offices and integrate them. This is not always appropriate as at no stage do we every want to lose the best possible customer service. But working with the best back end system is helping us ensure we are as efficient as possible in all areas.

Our 3rd re-design since 2011, plus a new name to bring us into the modern era. Bristol Lettings (Digs) is looking forward to more social media, new forms of marketing, a completely new look. Working in central Bristol is always a joy etc etc
